Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream

In 2007 Voices of the Lifestream was simultaneously released and discovered by me. This album was made by fans for fans and honors the video game Final Fantasy VII with 45 arrangements to composer’s Nobuo Uematsu’s original score.

As fans of Final Fantasy will know, Nobuo Uematsu is the composer for several of the Final Fantasy games in the series.

More than 40 different artists from the OverClocked ReMix community contributed over three hours of music to the album. Interpretations of the soundtrack cover a multitude of genres and styles from jazz to electronica to rock and symphonic.

When I first listened to the songs I couldn’t believe that they were fan-based creations. The quality and effort put into the songs was very impressive.
