In what has been a trend in the creative world starting with the release of free versions of many game engines, animation software used by famous studios is going open source and free on March 26th. Hopefully we’ll see an influx of original content created by independent film makers, though we may need to wade through a lot of drudge to find it, if the explosion of low quality apps and games in the mobile environment have been any indication of the way things will go.
