Razer, most notable for their mice and keyboards, recently announced a new product that is a departure from their usual lineup.
Razer Comms is an in-game messaging program that brings VOIP and instant messaging to gamers. It appears to be utilizing many features that Xfire once provided for gamers including cross-game communication and ingame overlays. Ever since Xfire was bought out it seems to have been plagued with bugs and other issues. Hopefully this provides for some gamers a new tool for communication.
The program is in Beta and is being touted as free. Go ahead and try it out here.
